Anzac Biscuit Recipe (as foggily remembered by Kate) 8 ounces of butter 2 cups of rolled oats 1 cup of brown sugar 1 cup of plain flour ?? 1 cup of coconut 1 teaspoon of baking soda 2 tablespoons of boiling water 2 tablespoons of golden syrup (or nearest thing to) Preheat oven to 350F Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Melt butter and syrup together in a saucepan. Dissolve baking soda into hot water and add to butter/syrup mixture while still hot and runny. Add immediately to mixing bowl and combine all ingredients. (Hands are best) Roll or pat into small balls and add to a tray covered in greased foil. Don't place them too close together because they will spread! Baking in oven for 20 minutes (or until golden brown) Allow to cool slightly before removing from tray (they will be really soft when you first take them out of the oven)
