Using Pine on Remote 31 October, 2002 - GEST Intro - You may want to configure PINE on remote to read your bigbro account. That way, if you're away from Ithaca and don't have access to IMAP, you can still SSH to remote and then read your mail from there. Setup - 1. Log into remote. 2. Edit the ".pinerc" file to point it to bigbro. There's a sample file in this directory to help you. Look for the lines, personal-name=Gil Toombes user-domain=bigbro.biophys.cornell.edu smtp-server=bigbro.biophys.cornell.edu inbox-path={bigbro.biophys.cornell.edu/user=toombes/ssl/novalidate-cert} folder-collections={bigbro.biophys.cornell.edu/user=toombes/ssl/novalidate-cert}Mail/[] address-book=bigbro {bigbro.biophys.cornell.edu/user=toombes/ssl/novalidate-cert}addressbk 3. Fire up PINE. Check your addressbook, saved messages, sent mail etc.
